  1. David Thorpe - YouTube

Camera reviews (of Micro Four Thirds cameras) by a sensible-sounding British man, as opposed to an over-excited “Hi guys!” American describing cameras as “sexy puppies”. (via The Online Photographer)

  2. The Loves of Lena Dunham by Elaine Blair | The New York Review of Books

I did enjoy this review of ‘Girls’, which I haven’t seen. Good on how samey most TV drama sex is, for example. I love TV reviews that are this thoughtful; common for movies, not for TV.

  3. LED Light Review

Thorough reviews of LED bulbs. Doesn’t seem to do little spotlights though. (via The Wirecutter)

  4. Pepys’ Shows: Samuel Pepys’ Theatre Reviews

The remarkable Matthew Somerville and Clare Lovell made a lovely little thing at Culture Hack Day: a random review of a play as seen by Samuel Pepys, also linking to Theatricalia.

  5. Dell U2410 Review

Keep thinking I saved this when I first read it and then I find I haven’t. Now I have.

  6. Yakuza 3 reviewed by Yakuza - Boing Boing

As @revdancatt said, news organisations should do features with custom designs, like Boing Boing have done with this one. Lovely. Interesting. Doesn’t look like the front end to a database.

  7. The Online Photographer: Panasonic GF1 vs. Olympus E-P1, Part I

Solely for this quote: “These two [bundled] applications just can’t possibly be as lame and useless as they appear to be … They can’t be—right? Because if faced with a choice of working day in, day out in one of these environments or picking up trash by the side of the freeway with a pointy stick guarded by a fat man with a shotgun and a big wad of tobacco in his cheek, I would need time to decide. They both seem like they’d be torture, but least in a chain gang I’d be outdoors.”

  8. The Escapist : Video Galleries : Zero Punctuation : Gears of War 2

Quite enjoying these animated games reviews, although this is the only game I’ve played much, so far. Kind of sounds like old Victor Lewis Smith.

  9. West End Whingers

I’m enjoying this blog’s theatre reviews. Intelligent but down to earth and nothing too obscure.

  10. Kevin Kelly — Cool Tools - A Review of Review Sites

The best sites that review all kinds of things. Useful round-up.

  11. Which? - Expert advice from an independent source

Brand new Which? site - I did some of the HTML/CSS. It looks nice.
