  1. Turnover

The third manual tool for tapping out BPM data with iTunes I’ve used over the years, and by far the best.

  2. Cadence App | Your Music. Your Motion. | Cadence BPM Tapper

Blacktree’s old iTunes-BPM doesn’t work on Lion, but this free app is a decent replacement. Tap in time to a song, click a button to update the tune’s BPM setting in iTunes.

  3. BeaTunes ~ build better playlists

Interesting metadata editor/finder for music in your iTunes library. Can also do some kind of Genius-like playlist creation.

  4. Cadence | your music. your motion.

Mainly for Cadence Desktop, which claims to apply BPM values to your iTunes songs. I’ve heard that before, but you never know. (via Lee)

  5. BBC News | Health | Bee Gees hit could save your life

I’m amazed this non-news story got so much traction on blogs and news sites. There’s nothing to it at all. (Plus, surely Soul II Soul’s ‘Back to Life’ (102 BPM) would be even better.)

  6. Potion Factory Blog » Blog Archive » Introducing Tangerine

Interesting Mac app for creating iTunes playlists organised by BPM. It’s BPM-working-out algorithm needs some tweaking though, as it’s more miss than hit for me (eg, it thinks a few slow acoustic guitar tracks are 180 BPM). (via Plasticbag)

  7. Blacktree - Forums - View topic - Doesn’t work under 10.4

Yay, new version of iTunes-BPM which works under Tiger (helps you set the BPM of tracks by clicking in time).
