Part of the "Urban Wandering" season.

"Neither documentary nor fiction, Patrick Keiller’s seminal film chronicles a year in the life of the capital through the eyes of the director’s imaginary protagonist Robinson, and an unseen narrator, voiced by Paul Scofield.

As Robinson wanders the city, quoting French poets such as Rimbaud and Baudelaire, he looks for comforting public spaces, but finds them only in the suburbs: in Wembley and in the arcades of Brixton Market. Nearly twenty years since its release, we have a chance to ponder and reflect on the city and its history.

We are delighted to be joined by Patrick Keiller after the film as he joins our host Gareth Evans in conversation."
