Arresting the Unjustly Homeless while they Learn to Code — Weird Future — Medium
Good stuff, on that well-intentioned but myopic vanity project to help a homeless man to code. Hey, why not use your energy to change the system? Even less chance of success and glory, but if enough of you do it you might just make a sodding difference you. Gah, angry.
Hey, Glenn Greenwald! I’ve got the name for your new online news site: The Grudge Report. You’re welcome!
@mario Great (or, not), thanks! I’ll add it to the site.
@danhon Your story has been deprecated. You will cease to exist in 5… 4… 3…
@bowbrick Yeah, there’s a load of stuff missing, which I *hope* they just haven’t implemented yet. Benefit of the doubt. When will I learn.
Hopefully @Flickr will also fix the many typos in their blog post, which could almost make one think they don’t care blog.flickr.net/en/2013/10/14/…
On the other hand, I worry they’re simply trying to squeeze too much into too small a space, and that makes the problems unsolvable.
I don’t entirely hate the new Flickr photo pages. They need an awful lot of work before I’d like them, but I can see it’s possible.
@revdancatt They have always been at war with Scrolling.
@mildlydiverting @alaric @holgate @blech @tominsam That’s a git/version control rather than GitHub issue though?
@tominsam @alaric @holgate @blech @mildlydiverting Definitely. Main worry would be it getting bought by someone to squeeze cash from it.
@alaric @holgate @blech @tominsam @mildlydiverting So, not a “walled garden”, but a “massive single point of failure”.
@choosenick All links on my Pinboard! RSS 4 lyfe! And other embarrassing sayings.
@danhon I did, on my Pinboard… I’m so old skool! #RSS #looselyjoined #webofdata #yo
I just read a good post on Medium! I knew they could do it! It’s like when someone good is mistakenly invited to write a Daily Mail column.
@danhon I do imagine that Jack Dorsey is a bit like the american Jonatton Yeah?
Alan Bennett, when curating, wanted to put a sign outside the National Gallery: "You don't have to like it all."
