    @edwinbalani They seem very narrow for ducting - not a lot thicker than straws at a guess. And they often have plastic caps on the top which would prevent air escaping. But I don't know, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Do I know anyone who knows anyone who knows whether linux02.lib.cam.ac.uk might return? It used to host pages of a 17th baptism register such as linux02.lib.cam.ac.uk/earlscolne/bap… which I linked to from diary entries on pepysdiary.com but the whole server has gone offline...

    I’ve noticed that a lot of telephone poles near us, on country roads, have two plastic rods/sticks at their base, one on either side, sticking a few inches out of the ground. Usually white plastic, very occasionally black. Anyone know what they are?
