    @simonw I cancelled a subscription with [coffee beans by mail company] because someone from their called me. Even worse, at the weekend.

    Also I think I’d have been less polite if they’d said they were from a “customer success team”.

    For real though, science fiction vehicles look like this because they’re meant to aestheticize technology in a way that projects cool menace outward toward the world, and warm self-reliance inward the operator and occupant. It’s meant as a critique of anti-societal modes.

    I’ll tell you something, don’t judge. I bill over £80k in a year, I take home a bit over half of that, I don’t feel overly taxed.
