PreviousIndexNext Bill Nighy

Best line of the day comes from an interview with Bill Nighy:

“There is nothing lonelier than being on stage in pantaloons.”

I didn’t see State of Play as I missed the first episode, and I feel like I discovered Nighy’s general delightfulness rather late. The first time I noticed him was in the wonderful Lawless Heart, in which he was hilarious in an understated English fashion. Anyway, pantaloons. Beware.

Comments

He was rather good in The Lawless Heart, I thought, a very under-seen film with a pleasant lyricism to it. I should see it again.

Nighy very nearly steals Love Actually, the new Richard Curtis thing, and that's quite a trick given who he's up against.

I met Bill Nighy about 12 yrs ago in a pub in the middle of nottingham. I was 17 yrs old and had just left my home town for fame and riches(yer right!!). We talked and drank all afternoon whilst listening to the Stones on the duke box. It wasn't till the end of the session I managed to get his occupation out of him, a week later I happend across a BBC2 play called 'The mens room' and guess who had the starring role? Top actor, top guy.

Hello, I'm trying to track down a video of Bill Nighy and Juliet(?) Stephenson in The Men's Room. I think it might have been a BBC production.

Did anyone ever reply about the Men's Room video. I would love to buy a copy of this great series. Why on earth is it not available on DVD?
