…but, on the other hand, having fleece *and* down is super cosy. And the weight and bulk (compared to a very light vest) is oddly comforting, like a weighted blanket I guess.

It would only be better if the non-fleece side was a lovely soft brushed cotton or something.

To follow up on this, I ended up getting a @patagonia Reversible Bivy Down Vest (from the very nice @TheBrokedownPal) thebrokedownpalace.com/collections/me…

In some ways it's *more* outdoorsy: heavier, bulkier, and the non-fleece side is still a bit rustly and weatherproof… twitter.com/philgyford/sta…

Throughout last winter I wore a Patagonia Down Sweater Vest indoors. It's very warm but I don't need the lightweight, windproof, ripstop shell, which is rustly polyester.

I want a similar piece of high-performance clothing but designed for indoor use. Cosy and comfy, not rustly.

I remember this magazine cover from back in the day and it's remained lodged in my memory as 90s techno utopian insanity but hoooo boy is the body of the article a helluva punchline

@samuelpepys This poor woman. Trapped by the conventions of the time and the need for public perception of a normal family life in a failed marriage to a powerful politician who constantly lies. Thank God in this modern enlightened Britain this sort of thing doesn't happen anymor...oh.
