Among the many non-coding skills developers should learn, but many apparently don't, is "How to ask for help". I see so many questions online like "When I deploy my Django app I get an error. How can I fix it?" Or else a vast amount of incomprehensible,
    irrelevant detail.

@yoz It does sound like that kind of thing from the IRC. And (to clarify) I'm not blaming that person particularly and I'm glad I'm not in their position. I'm trying to find it interesting from a distance, rather than personally frustrating.

@philsheard I had pipenv suddenly throw errors on a project it was previously happy with, due to requiring a specific git reference :/ poetry sounds good although doesn't do quite as much as pipenv.

@philsheard I haven't yet. I'm reluctant to switch because I like to stick with one tool for everything and, when it works, I really like pipenv. The lack of awareness is impressive.

It's kind of fascinating as an example of bottlenecks in open source development and the importance of project managers. e.g. see these IRC logs from yesterday with the/a pipenv maintainer kafka.dcpython.org/day/pypa-dev/2…

pipenv is a recommended tool for managing Python packages and, despite there being new code and pull requests, hasn't had a new release since November 2018, despite numerous pleas github.com/pypa/packaging…
