@rod The dConstruct when we sat outside chatting for much of it was one of my favourite conference experiences!

@tomcoates @revdancatt I'm surprised they bother with the event at all when you're not speaking. Weird.

@revdancatt I even like the event, but at conferences in Brighton I always end up wanting to be outside more!

@revdancatt I was thinking the same. See you there!

@tomcoates @blech Given Sturgeon’s Law, maybe you should post one thing you do like for every nine about things you don’t? It’s a start.

@mathowie God, yes, I hate real-time. Like phone calls - who thought they were a good idea?!

Back in my stride. A stride that involves being busy but never getting round to thing I meant to start hours ago.

@FGW No, there isn’t (see attached).

@FGW I received an email from you telling me how to sign up for emails from you. How do I unsubscribe?

@bojates Yes, lots of places in my estate appear on Airbnb etc… residents are nervous about the law changing.

@johndodds More likely to read them than “all the laws” :)

@dogwinters Ah, I’d only heard of a London-specific bylaw, although have had trouble finding anything that’s not borough-specific.

  • philgyford’s avatar

@johndodds Yup. But it’s also not intuitively an obvious thing; you’d assume it was down to your own lease and mortgage conditions.

We’re not renting out, I just hadn’t heard of this law, and am surprised, given how popular Airbnbing is. I assume most people don’t know.

Obviously Airbnb resort to a “please review your local laws” then sign the T&Cs line: airbnb.co.uk/help/question/… Disruption!

It’s illegal in London to let your property for less than 90 days. eg Westminster: transact.westminster.gov.uk/docstores/publ… There’s a proposal to change law.
