Week 382

Back to work this week, starting on a project with a new US-based client. So I spent most of the week iterating through sketches of possible interfaces for a website. It’s interesting stuff, but trying to brainstorm radically new things on one’s own, for several days, has its tough moments. Still, I think it’s going OK. That continues next week.

Otherwise, today has been spent with Samuel Pepys. Despite the new work, I’ve so far managed to reserve Fridays to keep the Pepys site up-to-date, rather than use up part of the weekend, or evenings, or early mornings.

I’m sure that earlier in the week I had some kind of insight to share, but it’s vanished now as my brain grinds to a weekend halt. Next time…

  • 6:55pm: Looking forward to the comedy, but @scaryredhair is all hands.
  • 5:08pm: Eating mints, making sure my breath is fresh for @scaryredhair. Minchin and Kitson had better be worth what I'm about to do.
  • 4:02pm: @blech Foyle's is in One New Change, Daunt's is at 61 Cheapside, which was apparently a Boots before.
  • 3:39pm: Weird... you think bookshops are on the decline and then a Daunt's AND a Foyles open on Cheapside.
  • 2:32pm: Workday, Workday, Workday, Workday, Pepysday, Saturday, Sunday.
  • 11:40am: @scaryredhair I am honoured, excited and fearful.
  • 10:39am: Workman standing on a windowsill 2 floors up, without a harness, as if Health & Safety hasn't taken over our lives. You couldn't make it up!
  • 10:19am: @mondoagogo Thanks! I was expecting her to plunge to her death though... Still, today needs MORE SLEATER-KINNEY!
  • 9:19am: @Zoonie @JamesWallis Illustrious history? All I remember is Barry Norman's annoyingly fawning interviews with stars. #film2010
