I've loved my Apple Mail for several years now, although the spam filter is not quite so useful as it used to be. The biggest advantage is the larger system in which the Mail came into my life—I don't know quite how I would survive as a desktop _and_ laptop user without isync.
I like gmail for its size capacities, and I need it to use docs.google, which is increasingly useful. But it's not yet winning me over as a primary mail server.
