Bunker on the beach, Walton-on-the-Naze on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It’s erosion - the cliffs at Walton have been gradually disappearing into the sea for years. On the plus side this makes the beach a great place to find fossils that were in the cliffs. On the (larger) negative side this means the Naze and the tower are in danger of eventually disappearing altogether.

There’s a Naze Protection Society which, I assume, is campaigning for more sea defences, but their website doesn’t seem to be working for me right now.

Russell davies: we love technology - part two

“…comedy is clearly a higher and more difficult art than straight drama.”

I’m not entirely convinced of this any more. I think it’s just that with comedy you know if it’s worked or not because you either laugh or don’t laugh. With drama we have no definitive criteria for success, so we just assume it always works to some degree, therefore it’s easier.

So I think our criteria for judging drama is too lax. If the criteria for successful drama was that it made you cry or gasp then drama might seem a more difficult art than comedy.

My Best Friend on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

I think there’s a good film to made about someone who realises he doesn’t have any real friends. But this wasn’t it, and I expect someone has already made such a film.

Family tree stencil. Not much to it, but would be handy.
